Author Guidelines

1. Publication Ethics

  • JMTI follows ethical standards to maintain public trust in our publications and ensure academic integrity in a responsible manner for public benefit and research development.

  • Authorship:   Individuals who have made substantive intellectual contributions to the research are qualified to make submission as authors. The research must be original and should not  be under consideration for review or publication elsewhere. Substantive contributions include designing a scientific investigation, acquisition, analysis and interpretation of the data, participating in drafting, reviewing or revising the manuscript for intellectual content and being accountable for the integrity of the research work from a whole. All contributors who do not meet the criteria for authorship should be listed in an acknowledgment section. Those individuals who provided purely technical help, writing assistance, general support, financial and material support should be acknowledged. Once the submitted papers pass through the double blind review, they will be sent for edition and layout creation. Authors cannot withdraw their papers at this stage.

  • Corresponding Author:   The corresponding author is the one individual who takes primary responsibility for communication with the journal during the manuscript submission, peer review, and publication process. He/She needs to ensure that all the journal's administrative requirements for submission and publication are properly completed. The corresponding author should be available to respond to editorial queries in a timely way, and respond to critiques of the published work in case any questions should arise after publication.

  • Co-author:   They should contribute in the research work, take responsibility for the content of all appropriate portions of the manuscript, acknowledge that they have reviewed and approved the final manuscript. They are also expected to be responsible for the integrity and accuracy of any part of the applicable research.

  • Conflict Interest:   A Conflict of Interest exists when judgment regarding the research is influenced by financial gain or personal relationships. All authors are required to disclose any financial, personal or other associations that may influence their work potentially. Authors are responsible for disclosing financial support from the industry or other conflicts of interest that might bias the interpretation of results. Editors and reviewers who make judgment on manuscripts should recuse themselves from editorial decisions if they have conflicts of interest or relationships that pose potential conflicts related to articles under consideration.

  • Plagiarism:   JMTI is committed to publish original and unpublished manuscripts to maintain academic integrity. The corresponding author must confirm that all of the other authors have approved the final manuscript. Authors must assure that the manuscript submitted is not being considered for review or publication in whole or in part elsewhere. Manuscripts found to have been published elsewhere or under review will be suspended.

  • Citation Manipulation:   Citation manipulation refers to the activity of publishing articles primarily for the purpose to increase an author's number of citations. Authors should abide by the publication ethics guidelines and JMTI is strongly opposed to this malicious practice.

2. Manuscript Template

  • All manuscripts should be written in Japanese or English -- British or American as long as consistency is observed.
  • Authors are strongly required to use the template provided for the final version of their papers. Instructions in detail are given about the online submission system. When making submissions, remember to attach a cover letter to your manuscript. Paper title, author names, affiliations and e-mail addresses should be clearly indicated in the cover letter.

3. Submission Steps
